Was looking at the pacing for this 4.36 KM's seem achievable but 42 of 'em. Gonna go for it in Amsterdam & see how long i can keep it going ? need ti cut back my mileage & do more speedwork.

20m just done, a battle of the mind over the legs etc 2:42:21, so happy with that. And a 67 mile week, the most ever for me.

Great running guys!
I've just done 5 races in 5 days - a just short of 5mile road run, a 2.24km hill time-trial, a 4mile beach race, a 5mile forest run and a 3.7mile trail race.
Loved them all - apart from today when my hamstring complained but think I may try a wee but of this shorter speedie stuff.
If you ever find yourself in Scotland the last week of July sign up for the Tour of Fife. And the cakes at teh end were amazing!

Good running, guys. The Tour de Fife sounds good.
Hideous 22 miler today in 3:14. Had kit with me to run in Swindon this morning but had too many beers so had to lie in. Someone suggested getting dropped off in Windsor on the way home and running to Henley on the Thames Path. Would have been 22.5 miles, which sounded perfect. It was perfect too until I missed a turn in Bourne End (while obsessively eating a gel) and got lost. Had to keep stopping to ask four separate groups (who all had no clue where they were!). Eventually got back on track after back-tracking but mentally was pissed off and then the hangover and dehydration kicked in and the last 6 miles were agonising. Annoying Sunday strolling pedestrians, too many gates, it got hot and I had a shooting pain in ball of left foot. Had to ring the wife to pick me up because with the detour it would have been 26 miles by the time I got home! (After driving me to Windsor in the first place this went down well!)
Still, they say it's good to run the time you want to do in the marathon - but I'm sure it supposed to be easy in training

The miles keep adding up on this thread. Some great running, racing and pacing but maybe the navigation skills needs a bit of work, sorry KB blame it on the drink
Even managed 23.3 miles in about 3:06 yesterday and another 6+ today giving me my first 60+ week since Feb time and there will not be too many more like that the rest of the year with all the tapering and recovery weeks from a few PB attempts

Some great long runs there guys. And lol Lou, Tour de Fife sounds amazing. Next year (or whenever I get my 3:15?!) I switch to "events" instead of races. Fun stuff, with kayaks, n hidden checkpoints, n beer n cakes n stuff!! Or maybe then 3:0x will beckon? Then there's sub 3, then...!! Hmmm. :-)G

What an experience LL - that's more races than I've managed this year. Missed the Hooky 6 today (sorry for bets placed) as I got all sensible and decided a race wasn't best undertaken after two weeks of no-running-at-all. Nice local woody run instead. KB - you got lost on the Thames Path? I've done the same a few times, it doesn't seem possible does it?
Great racing too RFJ. Foxy Davy - go for it - but as others may have said, speedwork may not be THAT crucial for a sub 3:15.

I went out to try & do 7.25 mm tonight which is a bit quicker than my usual pace, but felt fantastic & ended up doing 6.26's for 5 7 half miles, felt great & fastest I have ever done that distance, but didn't give me any idea of whether i can do 26 x 7.25's !
i never intentionally do speedwork just see how I feel & see how it goes, tonight was a bit of a shock !!

I know Luna - stick by the river, surely?
Foot is ok LL - the agonising bit was more mental than physical.
