i went and did the 5k last tuesday but it wasn't good. i could still feel a bit of tiredness/soreness from a long run 2 days earlier and the wind was averaging over 40kph straight into our faces on the way back. i ran 11.23 out and 12.04 back, not good at all.
still - the weather forecast for this tuesday is looking much better. so i'm going to have another go

Well, did Hyde Park this morning and pretty pleased with 21:20.
Hopefully I'll edge closer to sub 20 by Xmas.
It's really well organised El S, you'll enjoy it.

Well done 360 that's a great time I did the 5k time trial last night, muffed up my pace and died between 3 and 4 kms, waiting for official results but my watch clocked 22:28 which would be a pb of 6 secs. On the positive side of things although I was peeved about HOW I'd run I do feel I know what to work on and can hopefully improve my time again

Yours is a great time too Tia. A pb is a pb, well done.
The problem with 5ks is that you need to be spot on with your pacing. Mess it up and you've no time to recover. I did the same today - the first 400m or so is slightly downhill, so you can't help but go off too quick. I need a bit more discipline next time.

Can i crash in........
Coming back off injury and a crap year, (viral Pnuemonia, and knee issues), BUT HAVE HAD / DONE SOME DECENT TRG OVER THE LAST FEW WEEKS WITH SOME SOLID SPEED SESSIONS, sorry for shouting didnt mean too, (sausage fingers). So wanted to see where I was today, so did BPTT... outcome 20:37. So its there or there abouts, now need to lose 2 stone to get down to 12 st and some harder speed... all can be done (well speed is ok, not too sure about the weight)...... it was only last year that I managed 5 sub 20s on the trot, need to get back there...... but may be not this side of Christmas.
