Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Thanx :-)
I have an off road race next Sunday so will probably miss this session next weekend, although I will still do my usual club tempo run on tues night. Today was tough but do-able, so yes I hope to be able to 'tweak' things and see what happens next time!!

Feeling good :-)

Nice one Homer, saw your blog, was the 1.20 when you had some competion ;)

Have you got a 5k planned, this is your thread afterall??

I did 5 x 1k intervals on Monday, very slow, average 4.28, which seems stupid after running an *undulating* 5k on saturday where my average k was 4.16. I set a new max HR so it's not like I wasn't trying.

Homer - that sounds good to me.

I am doing a 10k race on Sunday and next week I am going to start doing intervals at the gym and see how that goes. I have never trained on a track, in fact the only time I have run on a track was up to the finish at the East Kilbride halm marathon this year!

Homer, that's some quick reps. What recoveries were they off?

Steven Mac, try and do the intervals mid to late next week to give yourself time to recover from the race so you can give them your all.

Intervals on the track last night. I 'enjoyed' the session, but still need to work on getting balanced times.
600m warm up. 6 x 800m with 1 min static recovery (as advised by Rach,ta). 600m warm down.
Splits were: 3m11s , 3m15s , 3m18s , 3m22s , 3m30s , 3m24s. All adds to my increased weekly mileage of 14 miles :-). Try to hit all 3m18s next time.

Doesn't seem too far apart - looks on target - well done :-)
