The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Whenever I look at the music we've played so far I'm always trying to think of classic sounds that haven't surfaced yet, I've got a couple for you here that demonstrate the true "broad church" of Northern Soul: Anyone heard of Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels? A bunch of white boys who came out with music that definitely strayed away from Rock n' Roll, they had two big 'uns on the northern scene (most probably unbeknownst to them) and when I was a nipper these were standard youth club offerings, most probably leaked down from big brothers/sisters who attended The Torch in the day. Here you go, "Breakout" and "You Get Your Kicks". Just FYI, no less an idol than Bruce Springsteen states that he was heavily influenced by Mitch Ryder!
