Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Of course Steve you could always set up a '9:30..how hard can it be?' thread :-) Seriously though, well done. It's not easy to maintain a good pace over 5 miles - I know!

Thanks folks. Actually did a mile time trial in April and managed 9.13. Bit reluctant to push too hard after reading the article on The Heart in the latest Running Magazine!! I think LazyD would leave me in my tracks...

I had a sneaky read while in Tesco this morning. Obviously it was a bit of a speed-read, but it seemed to say:
*endurance (esp ultra) running can change your heart muscle in some way
*don't ignore any strange breathlessness or chest pains
* the benefits of running far outweigh any increased risk of cardiac events.

So come on everyone, no excuses!!

I took to carrying my phone for a few days out on my runs after reading it! I know the evidence seems to point to positive benefits LazyD...I guess that I was being a bit overall squeamish as I was reading about the ticker!
