Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The 9:59 mile thread. How hard can it be?

Cool post, louloops - and huge congratters to you! :-) A big PB and a speedy 9:12 mile. There's no doubt a mile race would see you easily in 8.xx territory. It's YOU that ran it - great stuff!

Bigleggy - after the mutually committed start we all made in January there was bound to be a slackening off at some point. I've been a bit haphazard with my own training while I concentrated on racing - but I'm getting right back on it from tomorrow.

I'm edging closer to the magic numbers. Ran 5k in 31:06 today, average 10:10 pace. I think the track sessions are beginning to pay off!

Well done Jenny :-) Getting better and better !!!

My stats from yesterdays parkrun :-

1) 1m - 10:10(10:10/m) 141cal 5.9/6.68mph
2) 1m - 9:50(9:50/m) 142cal 6.1/6.55mph
3) 1m - 9:43(9:43/m) 140cal 6.18/6.87mph
4) 0.02m - 9(6:23/m) 3cal 9.41/10.4mph

Quite surprised I ran the 3rd mile quicker - It felt like I was slowing down all the time.

Different Parkrun today. A more undulating course and a mental pace to start with :-

1) 1m - 9:02(9:02/m) 142cal 6.65/9.41mph
2) 1m - 9:54(9:54/m) 144cal 6.06/7.37mph
3) 1m - 10:20(10:20/m) 144cal 5.81/6.55mph
4) 0.08m - 35(7:14/m) 10cal 8.29/9.68mph

Still managed 2 sub 9:59's and a Mo Farra sprint at the end :-)
