No, they have not. And project managers do not understand the concept that, if they want to make a new copy of a plan, they have to tell everyone to stop working on the current copy first. I'm having a bit of a week. |

quimby am with Glenn. Would suggest a proper database (not Excel). Even SharePoint lists are better than a shared workbook

Unfortunately a database wouldn't work. It's plan for a piece of work, with start/finish times and duration for each task, and we need to edit it frequently. Before Sharepoint, we used to sit in a meeting with one person updating the plan.

Maybe not a database, but proper project management software at least.

Outlook has tasks and you can extract the data into Excel if you like. This was over 10 years ago and they used a shared Exchange folder

um
I spent a fun day yesterday - initially trying to find a way to play recordings from my Humax TV recorder box on my laptop. Which, as these things do, involved 'repairing' my Office suite. Which is when I needed the product key to use any of it. Which was part of a 'Home User Product' from a corporate program in 2017. Long story, but basically my Office 2016 was kaput. I had a brief foray (and longer download/install) with Office 365 (free for a month), before the same experience buying Office 2021 and installing that. (£19.99 - how is that possible?) But I now have my own Office 2021. Is there anything amazing I should be aware of in Excel? Besides coloured, and different icons on the ribbon and quick start bar. (or any of the other apps? I think I may have lost Vision and Project, but I don't think I've used those for anything important since 2017). And I still can't play DTCP-IP files from the recorder. Comes up with 'missing DLL' errors, despite uninstalling and reinstalling everything MS says is needed. Although the SD version (mpeg) are fine. |
