"Haslemere's new Banking Hub is up and running from today. It's the first in the country to also have an ATM - something the Town Council has fought hard to ensure. Residents have waited a long time for this facility and it's now time to use it or lose it! Banking Hubs are dedicated places where communities can access everyday personal and business banking services, such as withdrawing and depositing cash easily, or paying in cheques, over the counter. They’re also somewhere to speak in person with a local community representative from your own bank. They’ll be on site for a specific day each week to help with more complicated transactions, such as mortgages, loans and pensions. Please pop in and see how the lovely staff at the hub can help you." thisismoney.co.uk |

There's one them where I stay, in the Co-op. It's staffed rotatingly by people from different banks. Tbh it's a very poor substitute: I'm not actually sure that it's still functioning. The only time I tried to use it, to pay in a cheque - they couldn't take cheques. For the vast majority of my life, the town had four banks. They all went, pretty close together. |
