Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hello.

A friend of mine last year got me doing Marcothon (run every day in December for a minimum of 25 minutes/3 miles). I completed December, and decided to keep going, but instead of sticking to the 25 minutes, where necessary I have just done 1 consecutive mile.

I'm seeing a lot of benefits, but there are times when I get bored. I don't want to stop the runstreak, but I just wondered if there were other people out there who run every day, and what you do to stay motivated?

(I have days where I don't wear a watch and go by how I feel, and a lot of my routes I log on map my run because my Garmin doesn't always work).

Hello :-)

You could log your routes on Fetch, rather than on Map My Run, and then you could play Fetchpoint and Conquercise whilst you are running :-)

Thanks Minardi :)

Mr Fetch - how can I log my route here without a Garmin trace? I have always used my Garmin before to log my training here (I have a lot of training logged here!) but if I run without a watch I use MMR to measure the distance.

Is there a way of doing it without a Garmin (other watches are available I'm sure!) because playing games whilst running would be fun :)

Click 'Routes' in the menu, and then look for the box with a link that says 'Plot A Route'.

Plot your route, and save it with a name e.g. "down to the horse field".

When you add training, you can specify a route from your list. Pick the route you did. Job done :-)

Today's run was motivated by purchasing Easter eggs. I ran to Aldi. Aldi was rammed, so I ran across town to Lidl. Then gingerly ran home with said chocolate so as not to break it.....
