Very pleased to get an early 6:32 start time this year (and a club mate got the same), but it does mean a very early alarm call. Weather forecast looks ok at the moment.

Good luck everyone on Sunday.

Good luck everyone. I'm doing the 46 so not off till after 9, but it still means an alarm call before 6am!
Got a logistically tricky weekend with a family do later today, there is some precision timing involved!

Hope everyone had a good ride and made it round in one piece. We missed the big delays on the 100 route as only doing the 46, but still saw several riders unconcious on the ground-3 or 4, plus many punctures and few other injuries.

Really enjoyed whizzing around the closed roads and riding past familiar sites, was a great day out. Will enter the 100 ballot for next year but won't be too disappointed to miss out

We were caught behind both accidents for over an hour Meg, and then as more riders joined the queue there was a solid "plug" of bikes going along...which meant that every time the road narrowed, or someone stopped, we *all* stopped.
We just missed the cut-off time for Leigh Hill, which was annoying, but I realise we still had a better day than the guys who finished in an air ambulance :-(

I think I got a bit luckier than Jubear.

I was around the mile 39-40 for an hour whilst the air ambulance were at work (the drink station was already heaving by the time I arrived) and for the managed restart, but I did to get to do both hills and I think my stoppage for the second accident was minimal compared to most. Had I started much later than the 7.42am wave at my (very modest) speed I suspect I'd have been in the group on the diversionary route from , which I would have been gutted about as this was probably my one and only significant cycle event.

Fingers crossed we get some positive news in due course regarding both the major casualties - reports of the first incident sounded horrendous.

Sadly they have announced one person has died (heart attack at 24 miles), 33 riders hospitalised and 3 seriously injured.

I remember seeing him on the floor on Kingston Bridge. There weren't any paramedics with him at the time but there were people with him so I didn't stop.

Very sad. The man on Leith Hill dies last year when we were stopped, it is just so sad
