Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Ok so I got the new shoes but didn't try them today as need to try them on a tready first in case they dont suit so I can exchange them. Did 5.28 cross countryish with running partner but it was very slow and painful for some of it. I feel like I've lost so much fitness in just a month. boo hoo where's the wine.... :(

It's soooo demoralising isn't it chicken?

I worked my ass off throughout jan,feb & march for my half mara and was really improving a lot and now I feel I'm back to where I was before xmas :(
I know it will come back eventually but I've got no patience and I want to be back at my peak NOW !
How are you now chicken?

Chicken glad to hear your run was better, onwards and upwards from now on hopefully !
No run for me today, went with run partner to support as he did half mara in peeing rain this morn. I was a bit envious that I couldn't run but the weather was so crap I didn't mind too much.
I'll probably try another shortish run tomorrow and see how that goes. Only 4 weeks to my next race so I really need to get some speed in my pins !

Oh what a great run I just had ! It's the first run I've enjoyed and not felt horrible pain in weeks. Shins still niggling but nowhere near as bad as friday. Did 4.17 miles in 35:24 and wanted to do more as I felt so strong but resisted in case I relapse. Really hope this is the beginning of the end of my injury !
How did your run go chicken?

RG Postie (RGP)
Been nearly a year now,my times have got worse and I've even pulled out of races, thats never happend before !
If it wasn't for PB and others allowing me to pace them at runs I'd have gone nuts !
Lost a load of fitness and pilled on over a stone in weight now !
Hopefully I'll have my op on my knee in a few months !

Chicken that's good news, hopefully you're on the mend too ! Not quite sure if I'm back just yet as shins sore again today but am off to the gym in a min to try my new Asics on the tready.
RGP - sorry to hear you've had such a tough time. Pacers are great though so yay for you ! My running partner paced me at my last 10k and I took 4.5 mins off my pb because he drove me on.
Fingers crossed for your op soon.

another one with sore shins - apparently due to my stiff neck (??) have had 2 weeks off, 1 weeks following physio's orders, and did 3 miles last night. Which was lovely - how I've missed running. Knees are stiff this morning and am in denial about stiff legs. Physio's advice today = try another run and see what hurts.
how can I plan for anything with that sort of advice ???

Great news Chicken - It must feel fantastic to be back on you feet again! :-)

Sorry to hear about Partyqueen & Toolilac's shins - hopefully your physio will have some more constructive advice next time.

As for me, I had a wonderful hill-walk & scramble at the weekend. Hip twinged a bit, but was generally okay so I'm feeling confident about being back climbing & running soon. I'll have lost some fitness (despite regular gym sessions) but the though of being able to get outside again is making me all giddy! :-) Exercising indoors isn't natural, it really isn't.
