Lovely morning at Delamere today, two of my boys running their 50ths and both PB'd 😀
Delamere's 6th birthday in two weeks and they are 782 X 5k short of running the distance to the moon in terms of participation to date - so hoping for a moon landing on their birthday run as they have every chance of hitting 380-400 runners next week. Fingers crossed!!

Yep exactly Goofee - if we really got stuck as you say - you can have run a credit but no time as no one has stepped up.

Well done to your boys, larkim, good way to celebrate a milestone. Moon landing, nice stat.
Local junior parkrun cancelled last week due to lack of advance volunteers, despite FB appeals. Had been threatened before, and they carried out out. Roster filled quickly for this week.
Falkirk posted second highest ever attendance today, so despite a cancellation and windy weather last two week, people seem to have returned. But I'm feeling there is a subtle change in the atmosphere of the event. It was happening, but it had accelerated. From a parkrun, to just a run. People turn up, run, leave. Fifteen or so queuing for one scanner, instead of going to the other three. Other stuff (eg was announced a U-11 was removed from last week's results for being unaccompanied.) Ach, I might just be being mardy, I'm not really on form just now, in anything. But still.

We also had to appeal on Friday morning despite regularly getting over 350 runners each week. I would give people 59.59 if necessary.

I guess we should consider ourselves lucky that we rarely struggle for volunteers. 3 or 4 regulars plus 4 or 5 Duke of Edinburgh volunteers (and their parents) is always a good base to start with.

What’s that, Linds? (I think that means I have to vote “never”!)

That's funny
We have always used an app called Photo Stopwatch which takes pictures of our runners as they finish against a time. The back-up timer has it. We use it then once the results are in to check they are right as between us, we usually know enough of the runners. There is some feeling amongst the core team that we should now stop and switch to the two stopwatches/app method. I was interested in how many other parkruns use the photo back up thingy.

LindsD, I've never noticed anyone using a photo stopwatch app, but I do know of at least one local parkrun who have a gopro camera recording the finish line so they can later review the footage if needed.
