Big_G UK parkruns were like that back in the day. Did a few that relied on the course briefing.

Gobi, I was pleased that one of the 4 volunteers spoke English and talked me through the course using a map before the event! I literally cannot make out any words at all when the locals are talking, which was the case at the parkrun briefing.

People talking over the briefing is one of my pet peeves. It's just plain rude. Just because you can't be bothered to listen, doesn't mean nobody else wants to. You can chat with your mates on the run.

Andy, I meant the pre run briefing was in Polish so I had no chance of understanding it (I don’t speak Polish), but a volunteer had explained the course to me in English before the event so I was fine.

Well done BrianJ I did Marine Parade today up and down the seafront at Weston. Surprisingly dry, warm and calm. And the smell of donuts and bacon at 9am… We have colleagues at work in Poland and it was a beautiful moment when I was chatting with one and we discovered each other were parkrunners. Hopefully I can sneak a work trip, have a ready made local guide and come home Sat PM |

Teignmouth yesterday was great fun. There was a little rain, but I was wetter thanks to the waves breaking against the prom. I’m full of admiration for some of the Marshalls having to stand alongside the prom and suffer the wet and cold from the sea. Appropriate clothing appeared to be worn though. |

Most impressed by the total silence for the briefing at Perth. Very polite and respectful and the total opposite to Stevenage

When we did Perth a few years ago, the RD delivered the briefing in rhyme - definitely an attention grabber!
