Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Should have said also, I missed the last LR with MP miles 16 with 12 or something like that as it clashed with the Lasswade 10 mile race

This thread is not exactly lively. I've found myself here from the link on Fetch's homepage article.

I'll have a read back through though because there could be some useful stuff on here.

Tbf, I think all of the marathon ones are more likely to pick up in the months before the spring and autumn marathons - but there are plenty of watchers on this one :-)

Me too. I think that some of the P&D discussion has also been on the 3:30 thread and others.

I'm lurking too although I'm loosely following the P&D 55 mile a week plan.

Only another 134 pages to go Hunts'... now if you could just summarise your findings for us all at the end then that will stop the need for the rest of us to read all 150 pages, thanks ;-)

I know you're joking Nelly but I'm going to summarise anyway :-) So far the general consensus is as follows that P&D schedules are great plans. The P&D medium long runs are vital to success in the training schedule. There are, for some, not enough long runs in the lower mileage schedules and Jock Itch said that some have said the taper has too much mileage.

This thread was initially about the 70-85mpw 18 week training plan from Pfitzinger & Douglas's excellent book Advanced marathoning. It's since widened out to include all the plans from P&D for any marathon. Maybe one day we'll get the thread title changed.

Current and planned P&D plan followers include:
