Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Love my contact lenses. I got them to wear "occasionally" for activities for which specs would get in the way and immediately started wearing them all the time.

My contacts are worn pretty constantly in summer because it’s easier to wear sunglasses. I wear them for most activities as well. I quite like to take a break from contacts but at the moment the mask and glasses are not compatible.

I’ve not worn contacts ever. I have varifocals on order as my close vision is now shit too. Waiting for them to run and tell me they’re ready

My glasses steam up in winter anyway, wearing a mask just steams them up even more and for longer...

My specs are varivocals but contacts aren’t (apparently they are a thing now) so I can’t use my contacts when working or using tablet or reading hence only use is limited

I've put off the varifocal decision. Most of the time I just slightly undercorrect one eye, because my near vision isn't bad on its own. It's easier now that you can just go online and buy lenses in whatever strength you want without needing a prescription.

My optician said I might adjust easily to varifocals because I’m used to having no peripheral vision :) I hope he’s right

(I also have some cheap near vision specs for uncorrecting my vision when I have full strength contact lenses in. It would probably be less complicated just to get varifocal contact lenses, but eL Bee! tried them and didn't like them.)

About This Thread

As promised - a carry on doing stuff thread.

Not a typo above. Half term is too early in the month and end of month Halloween is over promoted anyway. Half time can mean whatever you want it too and BE whenever you want it to be.
