@Fitz it's fixed there. It's the top of the fuel pump - I found a picture in my Haynes manual-and of course feels fixed in place. If the fuel pump was loose I think I'd have a fuel leak.

IoM TT incoming. I've never been, but in 2000 I raced in the Manx Cycling Week which used to happen a few weeks later (the straw bales were still in place). The TT is one of those events I really should attend before I die. MD once again looks like the rider to beat, and for all the TT max-speed hype I saw a 208mph top speed report for the North West 200, which is slightly mad considering they'd be in a bunch rather than solo. |

I last went 20 years ago. Can’t believe where the time has gone. We camped at a site near Kirkmichael, by the sea. We walked up to sit at the bank building and watch the racing on the first day. Other days we rode round the outside of the course to find other vantage points. Mad Sunday I went for a solo charge around the course then came back to the site and collected MrsC and we went to Peel to enjoy the day's events. It is one of the best things I’ve ever done. And I’ve done quite a lot of things… Definitely highly recommended if you get the chance to go. |

NW200 is also a fantastic event. I was working in Belfast '95 to '98 and went every year. Ulster GP was also a really good day out, but I’m pretty sure that one doesn’t run any more, having been cancelled in 2020 for Covid. Cookstown 100 is still going. These are all brilliant days out surrounded by passionate Ulstermen (and women) who live for bikes and racing. Very hard to beat for a great day out.

I've always thought I could ease myself in by going to some of the Irish road races first. Combine it with a family holiday, slip off for a day or two... much easier logistically than getting a week-pass to go to The Island.

I’d love to go but it would be quite the trip from here and I think you need to plan years in advance as everything gets booked up years in advance! Aslong as the weather is good me and one of my curvy bike club mate go out every Friday. We go on charity treasure hunts (just for lady bikers) I’ve just got this years patch! Tomorrow we are going to ride over to Bures to see an ancient church and the Bures dragon! Both I’ve seen whilst out running the Stour Valley Marathon! We also take photos of postboxes! There was only 1,000 miles on my bike when I got it in September and it’s up to 3,000 now! Going to the Peak District in June with 11 other lady bikers! |
