Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Is micellar water genuinely meaningless? I have a colleague who advises people with acne to use it instead of normal water to wash their faces, and I couldn't find a proper debunking online to use to beat her up with. Can anyone here help me in this matter?

A micellar solution is a real thing. Whether it helps with acne, I do not know.

I've seen some sources that don't recommend it for oily skins and conditions like acne, others that do.

For acne wouldn't you be better off with a Trion:Z band?

I can't think of any reason why it SHOULD help acne, but I try to pick my fights wisely.

Vrap- it'll dry the skin less than a "normal" soap as it's a significantly more dilute solution. On the back of that are built the marketing claims around skin mildness. As to it's effects on acne, I have no idea, but I suspect that at the very least it wouldn't be detrimental to the condition.

So, like, micellar water is actually soap, not water?
