The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?
Last night I dreamt I was in the Big Brother House. But I had an agreement with them to let me go for a run outside every lunchtime. As I set off I realised that I had forgotten to put on my running shoes but I found a different BB House and went in there. None of the housemates recognised me but they all assumed I was something to do with the show. In the dream I can recall saying to someone that I hoped I'd remember the dream so that I could write about it on this thread (and now I have!!).
Odd bits of last night's dream are still with me this evening.
I was taking part in some kind of organised 10k race event, except I finished by crossing the line in the opposite direction to all the other finishers.
On doing so, I was asked my time, which was 52:45, except I got it wrong and said 42:45, which created much excitement and I had to apologise to everyone, who were very nice about it.
They consoled me by reminding me that I'd started running by myself, and had only just joined a running club. The final words I remember were "Don't worry, we'll normalise you."
I am putting on a PTA Quiz on Friday and haven't started to set the questions. This was clearly on my mind last night when I went to bed.
It was about an hour before the start of the quiz and I had several blank sheets of card in my hand. One card had a single question on it - 'Name one of Barry Humphries' alter-ego characters.'
I might be tempted to include that one for the quiz proper just for the sake of it.
I was living in a flat and my neighbour had a pest problem that he called me over to support. Somehow he had created a new type of creature (I forget how now) but the result was loads of very hungry newt/lizard creatures with lots of teeth that kept appearing. I confess my initial reaction was to panic as they were everywhere and I squashed them but more appeared. They grew very quickly and were fast, slithering up stairs looking for water and food. We thought we’d got rid of them all so I left but when I went back the next day there were more. He got in an expert to help and when I spoke to this man, he described the creatures as quite sweet once fed so I felt bad about automatically killing them. I woke up before finding out the longer term solution to these endless creatures apparently appearing out of nothing.
