Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Nope. I'm out. Road too dicey to drive really. Not for the sake of a run streak. :-( Really annoying. Usually the glacial activity waits until after Christmas.

:( 25 mins of the field in the dark? You'd probably quite enjoy it.

The field is un-runnable. Frozen ruts and there was enough standing water on it when it froze for it to be randomly skatey. The chance of an ankle of knee tweek seems too high. Horses are in stables now too. :-( We will be under the glacier until Wednesday night at least.

We're going to have to invest in a treadmill. But too late for this year!

Just Fyi there are carbide ice-studs for both running shoes and hooves :)

Ooooo. That might be worth a thought. Although the horses don't wear metal shoes. But perhaps hoof boots could be adapted for winter turnout. And there's those spike thingies that can be put over running shoes? Yaxtrax?

I've never seen anything like the ice we get here. It's like it freezes from the ground up and temperatures slightly above freezing are worse than in the minuses because they the top thaws out.

See if you can track down best-grip spikes, RooA. Last time I needed some I had hits also for cars and horsey products. The ones for running are items 3000B for forefoot and 3000A for heels, 8 and 4 ea. on each foot (human). There is a little adapter for screwing them in. They last longer than your shoes, even if you run on icy granite.

Just noticed that the tracker is going again (linked in the sidebar), thanks Fetch. Was a late one for me on Day 4.
