Sinny I'll believe it when the first results get posted, because it has been so long in getting from intention to reality. That course ties in with the expected venue that has been doing the rounds for the last 15 months (? or more). I vaguely remember having run along the out and back bit of the canal path and alongside the Black Brook on the fishing pond side, and then a little bit on the rugby club side - but I can't really remember how wide the canal path area was. I have a funny feeling that this could be one of those parkruns that once it is up and running is going to go through a few course tweaks or even more radical changes before they settle into a long term version. But hopefully they can at least get going. |

Hey, I have a friend who is part of a Loughborough running group, and I can definitively say that a suitable parkrun route has still not been found. I think the link above is either just someone's potential speculation of a course, or a troll.

The problem with Loughborough is that there are so few areas that could be considered potential venues, so it's easy for someone to regurgitate the same old hearsay without any substance. The town park is too small, the sports ground on Nanpantan Road will have issues sharing with the football club, the Garendon estate is privately owned and primed for housing development ... so with the possible exception of Charnwood Water I can't honestly think of anywhere else than the Black Brook area near golf club as being suitable. This would have been ideal for me a few years back as I literally lived over the road. |

The day I believe Loughborough is hapoening is the day I get my barcode scanned there.
