Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

To beat the current proper record he has until 7am, but he is trying to beat 10 days, so needs to finish by 5am

Come on Dan!

Do we know how fast he’s moving? I am reassured by the moving dot but can’t tell how well or not well he’s doing.

Almost at Thrumster, just south of Wick. Google maps has that as 22 miles - and says 7 hours at walking pace (I guess it uses 3mph). Dan is going faster than that at the moment and there's no way he'll stop if it's physically possible to continue.

Nothing even close to this, but when my legs went in the Lakeland 100, the last 23 miles took me 11 hours with no running possible at all. Exciting stuff, let's hope for a good finish for Dan!

I *think* he's moving at more than 4mph at the moment ( google mps and finger width guestimates)

Come on Dan!

Those sort of finger and thumb measurements are often the best! Speaking of which, mine are all crossed. Even spending a few miles on the road with Dan earlier this week has added a bit of connectedness that makes it all the more real :-)

For future reference this evening -

Wick to Jo'G is 16.7 miles
Reiss to Jo'G is 13.5 miles
Keiss to Jo'G is 9.0 miles
Freswick to Jo'G is 4.3 miles

That's including the extra half mile to Jo'G harbour - since that's where all the start/finish photos are taken (gotta love Street View for this sort of thing)
