Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

So, I had the protein shakes to stop me from eating refined sugar in the form of buscuits and cake. Contradictorily, tbey made me loose condition: empty calories!

Pix - so more protein during the week will help with any cravings. Also try and plan your meals to avoid the wandering into the kitchen thinking 'what shall I eat now' moments.

Lots of great advice from Hanneke there.

Much better advice from Shades there! I really want to get to my racing weight before I start following a training plan as I'm a man and can't do two things at once :) For the last few months I've just been exercising to lose weight really.

getting closer to racing weight before upping the training is the sensible way to do it - then lose the last few pounds very slowly as the training load increases.

I wish I'd done that, instead of piling on extra and hoping it would fall off with the mileage increase.

Pix I lost weight when ironman training but I never felt under fuelled, apart from occasionally on days where I did huge sessions like 5 hour bike/2 hour run brick. I used to use frijj shakes sometimes afterwards - delicious. And if I wanted a sweet snack in the evening, mixed dried fruit. Also peanut butter is good for protein and fat so keeps you from getting hungry too soon. At the moment my fave snack is celery with almond butter on it. Yum.

Cycled in to work yesterday, near liverpool st., though got the train back. Seems that was enough to get me to my goal today. BMI 22.5, down from 29.6. I look pretty skinny now and have no upper body definition at all. Was thinking of doing the Insanity programme. Not sure I fancy pushing weights. Anyone got any suggestions?

How about swinging weights? :-) I'm having fun with kettlebells at the moment. Cheap, portable, scalable. And Argos finally has the 16kg back in stock! Look up Mark Wildman on YouTube for technique videos.

Morning all, happy Friday :)

reporting that I seem to have lost another 0.5lb this week :)

- you've done brilliantly azx :)

I've got another 5.5lb to go before I get a "healthy" BMI. So my target now is 5.5lbs in the next 8 weeks.
