Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The gluten thing is hard! I’m okay with bread, but don’t eat much of it. I never eat pasta these days though as it really makes me bloated.

Well done on the losses Hann and Rosehip

Pix are you saying serious weight loss starts in September or serious something else!? I bet you’ll lose some in the final weeks of IM training

Afternoon. Well done Hanneke and Rosehip.
I've been deviating a bit off the straight and narrow, but trendweight says I'm losing half a kilo/week, so doing ok it seems.

I mentioned I signed up to dietbet earlier. That's another part of my master motivation plan :) You don't really win much, but you're motivated not to lose your money. I entered one for $100 and won a couple of dollars, one for $35 and won $20, and then a long six month one where I'm currently $4 up. The six month one is ideally going to make sure I don't fall off the wagon when I reach my goal.

Onwards and downwards everyone!

Going in the right direction Hanneke & Rosehip.
Welshpoppy - I'd hope a 15ml walk/day would help you maintain your weight!
azx - I'm still trying out trendweight (as suggested by you) and so far, there's no definite trend to be seen. Just lately, I've been 'hovering' around the same weight so need to decide what to change to get the trend curve going downwards.

WtnMel, CiCo! eat less and/or exercise more. No magic bullet I don't think, well apart from finding your mojo. What could it be that motivates you to lose weight?

I gave my strategy a bit back which is to have lots of data and see improvements in any of them, whether it's weight, body fat%, waist line, race time, or strava fitness rating. Have loads of data so that you can see an improvement somewhere and latch on to it.

I did 125k in a cyclo sportive today. Was really not ready for it as I haven't done much cycling this year. It pissed down most of the way round too :( Weight loss got me a record 40k (by 12 minutes!) and my longest ride in garmin. Hopefully should show up on the scales too.

azx - I know the theory about CICO and eating less/exercising more. Just need to stop myself snacking or make some subtle changes to my diet and get back into the regular walking routine while I'm unable to run. Well done on the cyclo sportive btw ..

Cheers WtnMel. I know exactly how you feel. Several years ago I was injured and couldn't run, so walked an hour and a half to work and back every day. That was another of my weight loss phases. Worked out well. For a while...

Back from holiday, had a fabulous time, lots of exercise but also lots of eating and drinking. Slightly up but I'm OK with that, but now need to focus!
