Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Am I the only person seeing my browser using huge chunks of memory (2Gb) after I've done an import?

If I cycle in the morning - upload, run in the afternoon and try to upload again the communicator doesn't recognise my new activity. I can upload if I opt to look at the last week's worth of activities.

I've had that a couple of times but couldn't re-create it when I tried.

MT - I rarely do two things in one day but now that you mention it I may have had the same experience when I have. There have been a couple of times when I've had to look at the last 24 hours in order to get all my activity showing up...

Moley - have you got tons of activites stored on your Garmin still - it's good to keep them regularly culled by deleting all but the last month fairly often.
Also - have you tried the file size stuff suggested here (towards the bottom of article):
http://www.fetcheveryone.com/article-view.php?id=407 ?

MT - sorry, don't know that one. Good question though.

I've got about 50 runs in there at the moment. Whilst I realise that I can 'hide' the issue by clearing out the activities folder it's not an issue with other websites and applications that I import the same data into. For some reason Fetch is not releasing the memory once it's finished with the import.

Everything is fine until it gets to the 'processing' stage and then it does this, memory use peaked at over 3Gb:

P the B- I reguarly clear my watch but the number of activities 'found' is always increasing.
Is it finding them somewhere in my computer as definately not on my watch.
Not great at this 'puter stuff so words of one syllable required!!

Hi Sioux, on Windows 7 they'll be here:

C:\Users\{UserName}\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Devices\{DeviceNumber}\Activities

You might have to turn on 'Hidden files/folders' to get to them though.

About This Thread

Maintained by fetcheveryone
Just a little note to say thanks for all the comments here and via feedback. The test phase was useful for knocking off a lot of bugs, but there's nothing like the thrill of putting something live to really get that usability feedback flowing :-)

Here's the TO DO list following feedback from users:

1) Solution for only showing runs since last update - DONE
2) Links on successful import to allow direct route to edit/view - DONE
3) Avoid reloading data on choosing different time view.
4) Stop people pressing the button more than once - DONE
5) Auto detect sport where available.
6) Fix rogue pace zones (reported by Duchess, MacApple et al)
7) Max speed (for Mick173)
8) Smoother import of elevation data.
