It is durable, it is in fact astonishingly weak as a force. Martin Johnson is stronger than either of us, but likely to submit to gravity sooner on a long run.

...try and thing of gravity in terms of acceleration and not strength. That is the key - it can accelerate anything very quickly.

But by definition, the strength of a force is the speed at which it accelerates a given mass. Anyway, my point is that the site's science is badly expressed which is off-putting to someone coming at it with a reasonable amount of science and an open mind about the technique

Force = Mass * Acceleration.
Force is the outcome of gravity acting on mass.

No, acceleration is the outcome of force acting on mass, gravity *is* a force. And of course you can push your body faster than gravity can, that's what happens when you leave the ground, albeit temporarily.
And yes I should meet the good Dr. to reiterate, I'm not for an instant suggesting that I know anywhere close to the same amount about running, or that the technique is wrong, I'm just saying the science bit is flawed. There are other little sections which rankled, but if it's helping you guys run fast and injury-free, it's really my problem rather than yours!

Mac - the real issue is that the science is actually far more complicated than the vast majority of us could possibly even start to get to grips with, and in a book that effectively HAS to be accessible to the lowest common denomnator, it's always going to have to miss stuff out. The problem is that people then get SO focused on what they see as 'bad' science that they lose sight of the fact that what is trying to be got across is how to use the forces in an efficient way rather than trying to fight them.
And this dreadful navel-gazing starts which detracts from the whole point, which is to stop doing the things that hurt you, and leave you with just the things you need to do.
These completely pointless discussions about the minutiae of the science are really tedious, and should be left to those who actually give a toss!!!

Mac, You should maybe get the Pose Method of Triathlon Techniques book, it has all the science in there for you.
Sorry, I meant you cannot push your body forward faster than you can fall forward (try it, you just go upwards with more effort!)
Also, sorry f=ma (force is an outcome) hence why sprinters need stronger muscles- not to push harder but to hold posture on landing.
