Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Can anyone recommend a good headset to use with teams that has a USB connection and most importantly will help with hearing aid users

I have mine at 100% and it seems quiet still but when I up the volume on my aids it just amplifies the office noise

So I guess I need one which covers the whole of the ear and aid? would that be classed as noise cancelling??

Thanks

Jabra, if you have those in UK, has good ones in different price ranges.

And usually have ANC, active noise control and so on that filters out other noise. And also microphones that works well and is made to work in offices with a lot of other noise.

I think your guess is along the right lines. Covering the whole ear is a good start just for passive isolation. Active reduction will add a few dBs of isolation by sensing what sound is inside the cup minus the signal and transmitting a opposite waveform inside the cup (using an inbuilt powered tiny speaker) to sum to a flat line, i.e., cancel out the noise that makes it through the passive cup. Passive works sufficiently well in many cases if there is a good seal and design, but active in addition might be worth it for you.

Don't know what HA you have, but can you Bluetooth direct to them and use a separate mic if needed?

Hearing aids used to support a direct connection to the device (like a telephone - the T position ?) Do you get that with modern devices?

I do have bluetooth HA but they are connected to my phone

I wouldn't be able to have the connected to laptop and phone could I?

And although I could, I guess, disconnect from phone and connect to laptop for meetings all our calls use teams now too so on the rare occasion that I get a call it would take too long to connect

I said USB for the headset because work don't turn on BT on laptops by default!

Some devices will allow multiple bluetooth connections at same time. Would allow you to leave both connected. Worth investigating?

had to message the company as I can't see my hearing aid model on the website - probably because it's an NHS model rather than commercial one I guess!
