Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

It would take me quite a while to reconfigure mine after a full reset. The app backup will restore some settings but not everything.

Thanks for the tips. I've reset it - it seems OK latching onto satellites, and doesn't have smart GPS. Hopefully it'll behave now :-)

Smart recording isn't a problem - it calculates the GPS position every second, it just doesn't record every point. The distance and pace are the same as every second recording. It's UltraTrac you need to avoid.

Is your CPE or EPO up to date? Should be in the About info somewhere. If that's out of date or missing, the track can be wonky until the watch picks up all the satellite data.

It should all be up to date - everything is set to update automatically, although it's no longer a current model. A possible problem is atmospheric electrical activity which can affect GPSs, and my Aurora app has been pinging a lot in the last few days. I've done the basic reset, not the factory settings thing, but if it's atmospheric it would make sense to see what the Aurora graphs are like when anything doesn't work.

I doubt one watch would be affected by the atmospheric conditions if no one else's was. Suspect it was just having a digital bad day!

Ness says hers has been playing up too, and she lives very close to me, but has a different model. Mine has behaved today though.

I am finding calendar on the garmin connect app very confusing.
The workout for today shows as today on my watch and on the top of the home page - but to find it on calendar view I have to look at yesterday.

Is that normal?

@Rosehip I've noticed the same since the weekend. It's definitely not normal ... confusing at first and now just annoying!

glad it's not just me.
I think I saw it a while ago before this weekend but couldn't replicate it and assumed it was me being daft
