I'm reasonably sure (it's a while since I went through it!) that the route file format can't support it - it's point-to-point only. Yup that's correct.

Or plot the route outwards (route 1) and then continue back from the finish in reverse to the join point as a single point to point route, and then when you get to the diversion just run the route in reverse after you've joined the alternative route.
e.g. ABCDEFG where E is the finish, C/G is diversion point and D/F are the two alternative routes through to the finish. So the route on the watch would look like a lollipop.

Looks like the Garmin server that sends us FIT files is having a bit of a hiccup - 130 files in the queue at the moment. I'm keeping an eye.

I thought I'd do a verity vs chest strap test. Graph shows they tracked fairly similar with the chest quicker to pick up on changes (is this actually an optical or location issue given a chest strap is at source vs arm down stream?).
Only odd thing was picking up the pace where a gap opened between the two monitors (verity stayed at 160 for awhile then rose again before the end while the chest strap stayed at 168).

Possibly this has been covered ad nauseam but the new fitness age seems odd. OK the old one that used to say I was equivalent to a good 20 year old was suspect (in some respects) but the new one is arguably more silly. It says that I have achieved my youngest achievable age (8 years less than my real age) when due to a long term injury I am hardly doing anything. In real terms though if we are talking "fitness age" we need to know whether the baseline is the entire population or your peer group in terms of activity.

Yes, mine jumped from 30 something to 52 - I’m nearly 58. It has gone down to what it says is my minimum achievable of 51 and seems to depend more on my weight than anything else. Will be interesting to see if the plan I intend to follow between now and Christmas has any impact on it.

Interesting, I never allow my weight to fluctuate 1 KG from 80, so that has had no effect for me. I use the Garmin T2 wireless scales that are hilariously inaccurate for overestimating body fat percentage - so the fitness age screen does mention that I am a bit porky - I was measured as 1.93 metres tall by a nurse last week so do the maths.

Fitness age sounds like absolute nonsense to me. Is this a feature on the watches that cost close to a grand?
