Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

:)

If your friend would like to swim the route with a GoPro on his/her head and send the resulting film to Google for adoption into their streetview world, then a future event can model the route more closely. :)

That may sound as if I am being defensive, but I am genuinely not! On a related note, I do wonder whether parkrunners around the country could be encouraged to do the same with parkrun routes. If you are doing the FE Run/Walk virtual event, you may have noticed various participants pointing out parkrun locations which the virtual route visits. Sadly, these are frequently locations where there is no or little streetview coverage ...

Oi, who pushed me off the bridge? That was very cold, so I got out again pretty quickly, but I’ve made a start. 😀

And there was the bonus of a seal swimming about 100 yards away!

Now if open water swims counted double distance, that would be a incentive to get in the lochs early
