More acclimatising than actual swimming so only swam 300m but was a glorious morning for it. It probably took me longer to get in my wetsuit than actually swim - wetsuits shrink over the winter right?!

Although I've not been for a couple of weeks I found today's water temperature OK and managed 30 minutes. You could tell the first-time-this-year swimmers: complaining it was only 13°C. I have overcome the shrinking wetsuit problem by having a 'winter' one that's half a size larger

The swim challenge has given me something positive to focus on and provided a sort of cocoon away from the gloomy thoughts. A few days ago I had the idea that I might be able to get the thing completed today, to mark the 50th anniversary of my dad's death, and have worked hard to make that happen. I need a couple of days rest from the pool now!
