Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

V'rap and I must have similar reach so that would be really helpful. I got a couple of roped climbs recently and realised how different bouldering is - I had little in the way of stamina and got that "oh shit I am really tired and quite high" adrenaline rush.

Poor QP has learnt how to belay in his class but, even with a (couple of) weighted bags attached, he lost control when I 'didn't warn him' I was going to come off. I think it is a strength thing. He pulled it back to be fair....and long before I was in danger of hitting the ground.

Sadly I think you are a bit too far for a weekend trip.

The flip side of the "reach" coin is that us short people are more likely to stay in contact with the wall if we do the barn door thing, and there are some types of climb that are better suited to small hands and feet. But overall, I think height is more of an advantage than a disadvantage.

We should have a Fetch climbing weekend. Or maybe eL Bee! and I should do a tour of everyone else's climbing walls ;)

5h30m and about 300 miles to get to you. We have a notion to get back to Glentress nr Peebles for some MTB shenanigans though so maybe a summer road trip is in order.

Glentress isn't far from us. And there's good mountain biking to be had hereabouts too, on Whinlatter and on some of the out-in-the-wilds trails.

MTBing and climbing are 2 of the essential elements of a Good Weekend.

Camping and camaraderie are in there too.

Oh yes, and beer!

Are you coming too, AC? Coooooooooool :)

We don't have the house-room here that we had in Brum, but we have enough back garden for a few tents ... but it looks as if the majority of people who post on here are either in Yorkshire or in the north of Scotland, so maybe we should have a weekend in each place ;)

I also have a spare room guys. Many nice walls about Leeds and Sheffield. Love my local boulder wall.

Last climbing session for a couple of weeks.
Starting to knock on the door of certain types of 7a now.
Being 10kg lighter would probably help, but that isn't going to happen!
If we keep going regularly, I may just get there this year. Something to aim for!!
