Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Love the daffs and the dogs.
We found a bunch of daffs on our doorstep yesterday, still don’t know who left them, but they are opening nicely and a lovely splash of Spring in the kitchen.

We have a park at the end of our road and the daffs are usually in bud by now. The leaves are only just up though because it’s been so cold.

Evening folks. Another fabulously newty day everyone.

I went exploring with a friend today on our bikes. I have ridden parts of the area but on a night ride so it was great to see it all in day light. Beautiful area. I saw my first snow drops too.

I attempted to create my own recipe for protein mug cake. It wasn't awful but needs some tweaks. Reducing the SR flour to include vegan protein powder meant it didn't rise as much as I wanted, so I'll add baking powder next time, and I don't think I need a full tbsp of oil. That's a whole lot of calories and fat. I'll try half a tbsp and perhaps half a tbsp of water. The goal is 3:1 carb to protein ratio, without having too much sugar (I used granulated Stevia) or fat, so that it could count as a recovery treat after a long or hard run.

I bought some tulips today too. That's not really a Newt though. I've bought tulips before.

My new Hoover part has arrived. I haven't used it yet though because I'd already hoovered this morning and though I'm excited about it, I'm not *that* excited.

I tried a Newt recipe for dinner - pasta with prawns, tomato, chargrilled courgette and chilli. I've also invented a Newt pudding. I call it 'Philadelphia on a biscuit.' :-)

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
