Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I'm glad you like it Rosehip.

I thought that out of date baking powder wouldn't give the rise? With everything else if it looks ok, smells ok and in the case of most things tastes ok I use it!

I'd like to bake today as I'm not working but we have too much cake in at the moment really.

I'm having to give baking miss for a day or two. I'm taking half the cheesecake to school for staff so we don't need to keep eating it (it is very good!). I want to try doughnuts next but not today....

First attempt ever at sourdough. Been feeding the starter for over a week. Mini Nico has knocked up these pair of beauties. Hope some survives until I get home.

Good work mini Nico! Bet they'll taste amazing.

We've decided that afternoon tea is in order so there'll be lemon drizzle cake, cheese scones and brownies being prepared once I've had lunch.

No chocolate so we'll use just cocoa in the brownies. Will try this recipe: allrecipes.co.uk

For scones, husband suggests trying James Martin's recipe, which has an egg in it - I've never put an egg in scones but will give it a go. He also uses strong flour. Odd.
