GAZGIB Pleasantly surprised to beat my course record of 1:50 on one of the toughest halfs in the country. It absolutely chucked it down all the way round. Bracknell Forest Runners 1:35:38 1:37:41 1:50:00 1:46:18 54.70

Jonny Wet & windy, just like it was last year. Really enjoyed it again, though. It's quite a tough course with plenty of undulations, sometimes quite severe. It is however, the second year running I've produced a PB, not sure whether it just suits me or that it's not as tough as it seems. Overall, a nice, well organised race. Kieren I arrived late & missed the start. Couldn't get watch to work so no idea of my time. I had a lot of fun though - really loved running in the rain & the marshalls were brilliant. I made up loads of time on the downhills bounding down them in almost a full sprint letting gravity do all the work. Struggled on the uphills but ran all of them. I really felt it in the hip flexors probably because of my lack of hill training. Update:got my chip time - new PB :) Serpentine RC, Ealing Eagles Running Club 1:31:11 1:51:18 1:51:18 52.09
MadJonny Slower than my predicted time, but training hadn't gone too well and with the bad weather I was just happy to plod around. The first 4 miles were a nightmare of constant uphill or steep drops. The middle section up to mile 8 was all downhill and flat and quite enjoyable. Then there were two big hills that I ended up walking up. Best bit was running the last 1.1 miles downhill in 9.5 mins and overtaking loads of people on the way. Awful weather but great scenery and would do this again. Unaffiliated 1:44:49 1:51:36 2:10:00 2:23:09 40.86

Ronnie Wibbley Pouring rain and lashing wind made parts of this course resemble the satellite photos of New Orleans after Katrina, and that coupled with the infamous climbs on this course made my time one I'd rather forget. Watford Joggers 1:38:18 1:39:16 1:48:30 56.91

Waveydavey I was reasonably happy with this run. I cycled the 5 miles from Maidenhead station to get to the start. The hills were slow going up, but fast going down. The rain wasn't a problem for me - it was never that heavy and it was still mild. It was pretty much a 50 minute split for each half of the race. I didn't quite break 100 mins again, but that's definitely on for next time - blisters permitting! Reading Roadrunners 1:34:53 1:41:32 1:40:00 1:41:32 58.49
