Fitz A marathon PW for me, slower than when I ran Edinburgh and Dingle in 2011 while recovering from injury! Not sure why, I was adequately rested, fed, hydrated and trained. Just a bad day at the office. I have a bit of a foot injury that may have been a contributing factor but even before that started to hurt, I was feeling lethargic and leggy from half way. A few notes on the event, as it was the inaugural running of this event: easy to get to and park; start delayed by 15 minutes for no discernible reason; they reckoned they had 1900 participants but the results indicate 958 finishers, no way was it that attritional so there must have been a lot of DNSs. Mixed terrain course, quite wet
