Thanks Hanneke, I've been going to yoga classes for over a year now, on a nearly weekly basis. It's more of a matter of finding time to do it/or really discipline to do it.
At some point, I would like to do a yoga teacher training course, to get deeper into a practice then to eventually teach.

Hehehe, I did train to become a teacher and since I have been a teacher have hardly done any yoga myself! I find it really hard to get into the discipline of self practice. I have had times where I did practice almost daily, but once I started teaching seriously, I never seem to find the time or inclination!
Be prepared for it to be difficult

Fragile Do Not Bend
I've never had a problem with leggings, but despite practicing yoga for years I struggle to find suitable tops.
If the top is too tight, it rides up when I reach up into the air (e.g for sun salutation)and i keep having to pull it down again. If it is too baggy, it falls over my face when I do down dog.
Maybe I should practice yoga in a onesie!

I use fitted tops that are too large, if that makes sense? so they aren't tight, but tailored enough not to fall down oevr your head exposing yourself in inverted postures like shoulderstand, candle, down dog, headstand, handstand...

Yes, I agree with fitted tops that are a little long...so they don't ride up or budge when you do headstand. Most of my running vests work in a pinch.

Thanks for the advice Hanneke...I could see how it could be difficult to juggle a self practice in addition to a heavy teaching schedule. I wonder how my teacher manages it too.

I am now in to month 3 of yoga classes and I am loving it! My running has improved, as have my arms! I am still a million miles away from being able to do a fold where my nose is anywhere near my knees though... gosh I am still so tight in my hamstrings, hip flexors and quads! Makes me wonder if I will ever be able to do this.

I dropped off this summer when I had been going twice a week. I'm now back to once a week and considering twice a week in the new year again. It has really helped with my flexibility although life has made me rather stiff in lots of areas, especially in my hips.

It takes time and patience Tarahumara! I was extremely stuff when I first started and it took a few years, not months, before things eased out enough to be called 'remotely flexible'
