I find it amazing (and amusing and brilliant) that Flossie is such a model student in school mode, positively 5 star show dog - but leave an unattended fruit cake on a work surface and you only have yourself to blame for the consequences...

It's true, she has 'school' mode and 'free agent' mode

Rory, because he is, as we all know, a tiny weirdo, absolutely loves standing on a box. He also loves to stand on a wobble board (and can also 'sit', 'down' and will have a go at 'spin' on a wobble board), and he loves skateboarding. Still can't flipping fetch a ball though.

I recommend you try it: A dog on a wobble board is never not funny.

I love hearing stories about smart dogs. All I can offer is Cookie tonight. Out in the garden. I called him in, he ignored me. I went out, closing the door behind me. He eventually made his way to the closest door, where Phoebe was sat waiting to go in. When he goes inside through that door he always jumps in. Cookie ignored the closed door and jumped at the double glazed glass and banged his head on the shut door.

I really need to up my game. Ernie is similar to Flossie in that he was always perfect in class and can do great things when we do training but does not apply any of these skills in real life situations. He can fetch a ball but I think a wobble board would be more amusing.
On food related issues, I had to chastise my dad today for trying to feed Ernie a bit of hot cross bun. a) don't encourage my dog to beg by giving into his big brown eyes and b) please don't poison my dog.

I tried the equivalent of the cardboard box game tonight.
I used the lid from a large plastic crate. Jet saw the treats and sat, as good as gold, in front of me. When that didn't work he lay down, looking at me and drooling. Put his paws on the lid? Not a chance, he's a *good* dog, can't I tell?
I may have to go back and re-read the instructions...

He did the first step H by trying something else to please you, it took Indi a day to get to that stage. Persevere, treat for looking at box, sniffing box, touching box... etc. I'm sure it will come Jet is very clever.
