Yep HP, the dog is only as good as the owner _ as mine keeps reminding me!

I hope you were suitably impressed
Just left Rory for the first time - for 10 minutes to go to the co-op. I ran there and back and practically barged my way in front of someone to get ahead of him in the queue. Got back and Rory was standing calmly at the door (he saw me coming from the front window). It's stressful this dog-parenting

Ha you don't know the half of it Maz (Don't worry, I'm joking - kind-of :-))
D that is about the size of log (far too big to be called 'stick') Floss came down off the hill with a week or two back. Pride emanated from her every pore
On the beach the other weekend she found a large orange frisbee ring and insisted on bringing that back to the house. This weekend we took it on the beach for our walks and she must have run into the sea to fetch it literally hundreds of times - she just couldn't get enough of it! The very good thing was that the walk at low tide is a couple of miles long, and with all the extra she was doing it must have been easily three or four times that long. A walk of that distance would usually give her a stiff back leg for a few hours, but there was no stiffness at all. I'd have expected the resistance of running in and out of the waves to have been quite a work-out but clearly it's a good form of exercise for her. Maybe that's why racehorses are ridden through shallow waves sometimes?

That's brilliant LD.
I expect the Baroness - and praps Maz too - will know about the racehorses. I think the soft(?) sand surface has something to do with it too. Beach training benefical for human, horse and dog alike then!
Jess is very admiring of that stick, D2.
And Maz... sounds like it's already, then ? I hope so. It's good to leave him... and come back. That's what he needs to be certain of. But then I'm sure you know that... you're not a dog novice after all.

Well done Rory Funny how they take ownership of things they find LD, she is certainly getting her money's worth out of that one.

LD it sounds like you've found a perfect option. Happy dog and no pain.

I remember that Red Rum used to be ridden on the beach, I think the salt water is good for their legs (veterinary medicine may have moved on since those days though....)

I am very much a dog novice Sharkie, taking that out for walks and then returning them is NOT the same thing as having a full time one it turns out!
He's not calm at all at the moment, he's having a post walk mental 20 minutes with a couple of tennis balls - although he has just come and flopped in my lap, which I hope means he's finally tired for a bit!

Well you've got the collective wisdom (or otherwise) and experience of the Woofbark Collective at your disposal, Maz.
He sounds lovely - you wouldn't want a Dull Dog now would you?
