Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

When did you last give blood?

I got my silver award last week :)
But it's far easier when you are donating Plasma as I do. Because I'm in every 4 weeks.

So it's cheating a bit really

After being bumped on my last two visits for low iron levels I was wondering if I'd ever be able to donate again. The van came to my work the other day though and I was back to hunky-dory. Yay ! What people'll do to get half an hour away from their desks ... and a free biscuit ! I think I try to get the bone marrow donation van in. That should get me about a half day !

Forgot to pop in and say - gave blood last Friday. 14 weeks since the last time so almost as quick as I possibly can. I'm also on the 24 hour emergency list, the 3 times a year pledge and the organ donor online register. Fer feck's sake, it's all free and easy and stops kids dying n stuff. JFDI! :-)G

Stats:
2 Tunnock's tea cakes and a Kit Kat was the biscuit count.
4 mins for the pint (record at that centre is 3 mins - I'm even competitive in giving blood. Must squeeze harder/faster next time!!)

I took 8 mins last week (timed it!) and the nurse said that was average. HappyG - what's the 24hr emergency list? I'd be happy to go on that but don't you still have to allow 12 weeks between donations? I'd be happy to turn up and donate if they were really short.
