Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

When did you last give blood?

Hi HappyG,

Oh no, haven't actually donated bone marrow, I was just matched with someone, along with several hundred others I imagine. The syringes were for me to take to my GP, so get another blood sample. Once they tested that further, I didn't match.

I have looked at harvesting procedure, and it does look a bit nasty, but its actually a very slim chance I would ever get that far.

I see. I was concerned that having signed up I was rather committed to it. If I could get holiday/sickness cover for the time off (up to 6 weeks?) I would do it, really. But I work on contract (or actually as I'm out of contract, I am actually not working. maybe I should just give bone marrow now!!) so 6 weeks is no income. Tricky. Good for you tho. :-)G
