I have to say, nothing makes me feel my age than the latter activity. I used to spend all day working in the garden and think nothing of it; three hours is my limit these days.

I'm in talks with management about a potential promotion at work, taking over my own area of municipal flower beds to maintain. There are a few things to be thought about before a we make a decision, but two big positives are that a) they would be very happy for me to be in charge of that route, while simultaneously b) they don't want to split me up from my current buddy because we're the best team in the region. Promotion would mean more money and more autonomy, but slightly more monotonous work for a large chunk of the year, and possibly being stuck with someone who complained about the last woman he worked with because she occasionally needed the toilet as my sidekick. This morning I need to talk to my current buddy about it, before the big boss comes to talk to both of us.

Yes, the buddleias had a stay of execution this year due to weather and laziness but Monty Don included them in Jobs for the Weekend last week so I'm not the only one getting them done just in time
