Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

It's famous firstly for Maldon Salt, and secondly for the Maldon Mud Race, so sounds like you have.

Regarding cloacae, you will be unsurprised to learn they are clustered almost exclusively in the south of the county. It was Grays Triathlon yesterday. That's pool-based, even though Grays has a beach. Have a google and you may see why.

I have Maldon salt at home, of course, like everybody else who shops at Waitrose.

Maldon is a Dengie events thing, so you may die anyway without needing any meteorological catastrophes caused by me and Gobi racing.

My last Dengie event they had a sportive running at the same time as an Olympic and a middle distance tri. Roads with both packs of sportiveists and non drafting triathletes were chaotic.

Both events used the same finishing chute as well....

The whole thing took place near a nuclear power station, so assuming you aren't killed on the roads or in the finishing chute then bits of you are likely to go scabby and fall off in the weeks after the event.

Enjoy...:-)

That's a fair point. Last time me and Argie did a Dengie event, there were marshals at zebra crossings but none on the right turn off a major road.

I don't think I posted the report on Fetch - hold on.

Going Long

Triathlon, as we all know, is a lifestyle sport, and as such it tends to impact on everything one does.

Having said that, if it wasn't for the endless hours dedicated to 'doing what needs to be done', there wouldn't be the same sense of achievement when, after much pain, a lot of soul searching and endless cries of 'never again' you can look yourself in the eye and say...

So Greppers has a secret stash of race reports that have never been published......
