I have previous: the first open water swim OF MY LIFE was also at Dorney, in a race believe it or not. It was one of the evening jobbies at the 'wrong' end of the lake that Greppers and I used to frequent back in the day.... Although I am not really sure if Dorney counts as open water, to be honest.

You can stand up anywhere in Gosfield, but you can never see the bottom. If you can see the bottom throughout (eg Dorney), not open water. I shall have a word with Fetch, and get all open water swims logged in venues not meeting this criteria purged from the training log.
