Sportshoes just emailed me to say they've got the VFs in stock. I won't be dropping £209 on them, but they do seem to have all sizes in stock if anyone was VF-curious. Though their website just crashed - wonder if those two things are related...? |

Still in stock and also on the Nike site, I wonder if this represents a change in strategy by Nike. I'll wait until they are remaindered before getting a spare pair ![]() |

Afternoon team, after months of my mates banging on about the VP 4%s (and Pegs) non stop I've sort of caved in. I bought some Pegs in the sale before Christmas for £51 and they are going nicely. Then, at the weekend Nike put the Zoomfly Fly Knits down to £97 and had a 20% sale on and I can get 8% further off through a work benefits scheme so managed to get a pair for £71. Looking forward to taking them for a spin. No marathon for me this year, but looking to go sub 15 for 5k, 31.30 for 10k and 70 for half. Should be fun. I'm doing my best to ignore the VF 4%; just can't justify £200! My brother (who is a mighty fine runner) ran 29.37 at Telford 10k in a pair of £30 Salmings. It's not all about the shoe!! |

yeah, but think about how fast he would have run in the 4% Elliot! I'm with you JDA, the adrenaline rush of buying them seems to have gone now. I won't be hurrying to buy any more, I'll just get them when I need them is my new approach. I've also just bought a pair of Adidas Ultra Boost ST to replace my day-2-day mileage shoe which has got 700 miles on / no tread left. They are really, really bouncy and responsive. Without meaning to diss the ZF too much, I much prefer these new Adidas.... |

If you already have decent fast race shoes my prediction is you won't find the zoom too exciting (though the high sole does give a different feel to most shoes). However many of us have found the VF4% really does live up to the hype. It's not all about the shoe by any means, but a small part of it is ![]() My justification is that 200 quid isn't a vast amount compared to entry fees, transport, accommodation, especially if I can get a few good races out of them. Compared to cycling equipment it's still cheap! |

Ultraboost looks heavy to me...may be good for training miles but I wouldn't fancy carrying it round a race.

Gosh, yes, what jda says about the ultraboosts - they're like weight training for your feet! Very comfy and squishy (too much for some) - I heard them compared to slippers in terms of running performance by more than one person.
