Nice one jda ,
first race in the snake oil trainers today for me 38:38. A minute up on Decembers rv and 25secs improvement on last weeks Dewsbury race. Dewsbury was arguably a better (easier)day and i think runbritain will agree. I also had long socks so not sure the 4%s can take full credit but definitely felt good and bouncy

I've succumbed to temptation. Couple of pair of socks and a nice pair of vaporfly's.
1 training run, a HM in 4 weeks, and then a marathon (Rome) 4 weeks after that = ~50 miles.
How many miles do you get out of these again? They're going back in the box after each run that's for sure (hiding them from Mrs B 😬)!

Brunski, that was my plan, a 8m training run, my HM race and then Mancs HM.
However, irony, I broke my foot yesterday and then the bloody VF4’s arrive today. I’m out for the season.

Oh that's terrible luck whiteflash.
Mine are still looking good after three whole runs Brunski - one training run and two 10k races
I'll do the forthcoming half and then probably a handful of training runs going up to the marathon. Haven't had any difficulty switching straight into them though.

What bad timing, whiteflash Still, you can probably sell the VF4s on at a profit and buy more when you're ready.
I'm still dithering. My vintage Vaporflys from a decade ago are so much lighter and faster than the Lunaracer 3s I wear for training and wore for most of my races last year that I'm not sure there's much more to be gained by an upgrade.

Ok, I just can’t post from my work PC for some reason....
Brunski - what colour? If you’ve got the crimson then they’ll be a bit conspicuous to hide!!
Sounds bad WF, how did you do that?
Wore my crimsons for the 3rd time yesterday. 3rd PB 😀. Took some damage to the foam where it meets the black forefoot. I doubt I’ll worry about it but might post a pic later to see if anyone else sees it.

Oh no!! Still, they'll be there waiting for you when you return, WF. Hope for a swift recovery.

WW, I was out on my long run, had done about 8miles, felt good, then on a stretch of particularly bad off camber road, it just went. Initially, I stopped and then tried running again but pain was immense. What made it worse was that I had no phone! Anyway hospital said 6-8 weeks healing and hopefully some phase in running in approx 10w. Means I miss all my marathon prep races and obviously the mara.

Ouch whiteflash !!!
Ran in mine for a duathlon yesterday. I was very lively at the end of the second run.
Foam may be providing some leg protection
