only weak men
I know what you mean about cba BS. Onto week 2 of P&D and after 12m this morning pre work I'm already starting to dread midweek long runs.

Merry Christmas & HappyNewG(rrr)
Midweek long run was the curse of P&D for me. I ended up either doing it as 3 miles before, 2 miles after club run on Wed night, or splitting it into 2 x 7.5 mile commute runs (after wisdom of this thread said that wasn't as good as a 15, but possibly as good as a 12!) :-) G

First "proper" day of P&D, and straight into a tempo - 9 miles with 4 at LT.

Felt not too bad with 4 @ 6:30 and just checked back last year and did 4 @ 6:40 then, so psychological boost after day 1 :-)

Midweek Long Run is the hardest part of P&D, but in my view is a key ingredient. Its easy to skimp on them, but if you do, you may not be fully prepared. In addition those midweek 15 milers in the current cold, dark and wet are even harder than on a nice balmy summer/autumn evening

I don't mind the MLR, it's the MP runs ( eg 18 with 14 @ MP ) that I really struggle with as legs normally tired before I even start.

Interesttng BS, thanks

Never had P&D, can anyone confirm whether there is a 12 week plan in there?
I might add it to my Christmas list.

there is a 12 week P&D plan, defo JO.

Encouraging Gus. I flippin hate the P&D midweek MLR and haven't really done them properly in the past. This time....

I now have manflu. 2nd time of the 'winter' already. Perhaps I shouldn't have mentioned it though in case it's whining!

I could scan / email the plan for you JO if you'd like but I would recommend the complete book as it puts things in context and has lots of other interesting snippets in there.
