Just catching up this thread and realised that with EvilPixie being retired for a year, then that means the same for me! That year has flown by.

Very exciting @geordiegirl. We’ve been reminded recently how lucky we are, and that we aren’t as young as we like to think we are. We had four friends die in April, only one older than me. Two weeks ago my oldest friend (since our first day in prinary school 66 years ago!) was killed in a RTA. We still have lots of places we want to see while we are still fit enough so we are selling up in Portugal after five lovely years and going back to our original retirement Plan A which was to have two longish breaks somewhere warmer the UK in winter (Brexit rules will make them shorter than originally planned but hey-ho). Life is for living and we don’t want regrets when we get too old to travel - let’s go! Sorry for the extra long post 😁 |

Gosh, that's terrible Macca. Condolences on loss of your childhood friend. Travel plans sound great.

That is terribly sad macca but it is these stark reminders that nothing is guaranteed. Condolences on the too soon loss of your childhood friend. A post on FB today told me that a girl I went to school with (we didn't hang out but I knew her) died in March, 54! Tragic. Also too many ex-colleagues who have passed away in the last couple of years who were similar in age. We are spending more time on the boat this year and possibly will sell it later in the season next year so we can explore the world a bit more, good health depending of course. |

Sad news, Macca. It's good to have a Plan A to revert to!
