Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hmm, I find that hard to believe based on how many spend their day shitting in my garden and stalking the birds!

When I work from home, I see cats walking past my window all day long, but I think it's just two different ones.

rf_fozzy, at least you didn't suggest the Korean approach to reducing the dog population. :-o That really does disturb dog owners....

Getting back to the point a bit - is there scope for a "What will I do in 2022 to reduce my environmental impact" pledge forum on Fetch?

E.g. for just 2 peeps large house, 1 dog, 7 horses, 5 pigs, 3 cars, wasteful hobbies, NZ family (several long haul flights every few years), widely located UK family (several short haul flights a year) etc!

Rosehip, I know quite a few countries now ban cats from going outside, including the Netherlands...
I have a cat myself, but hate other people's cats shitting in my garden. Mine has been trained to go on the toilet, very easy to do... And doesn't shit outside... She is also too clever to catch birds: much more energy efficient to catch a rodent ;)

Happy, I now understand why you keep pushing your EV to the fore! To hide your seriously bad habits ;)

At least my animals are all working animals: 4 chickens that lay eggs, free range, produce manure and compost and weed the food forest and keep the veg garden largely slug free.
The cat keeps the house and outbuildings free of rodents and tries to reduce the vole population to manageable.
It is a win/win :)

About This Thread

Hi
I've seen environment (whether emissions, power, climate change, access to countryside, whatever you think of as "environment") discussed in various threads: Politics (obviously), the Electric Car thread fetcheveryone.com/forum/electric-car-anyone-61481/ , run free's excellent "Competitive Running and Keeping The Environment Clean" fetcheveryone.com/forum/running-competitively-keeping-our-environment-clean-60907/ my own Greta Thunberg thread fetcheveryone.com/forum/greta-thunberg---jfk-for-the-climate-generation-61044/ etc. but I haven't seen a general one.

So here it is. For those interested in the science, the politics, the action for (and I'll state that for me, this is mostly pro-environment, anti-emissions, anti-pollution etc.) and the hope for the future of our planet.
