Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I have run marathons fuelled only by sports drinks Mandymoo. Easy to do that at VMLM with the Lucozade Sport stations. This was when I thought I couldn't get on with gels (turns out it is only the Lucozade ones that I don't get on with). Or there are gels that are more palatable e.g. Torq ones. Alternatives to gels are Shot Blocks and dextrose sweets.

Shot Bloks for me. I used gels when I first started running but quickly realised that they didn't agree with me.

I have tried Torque gels, Lucozade gels they both seem to upset me. Mind you sometimes I don't need to have anything and it upsets me. I seem to be suffering really badly lately - especially since coming back from Goa, and wondering if there is an underlying bug in my tummy. I cant have Lucozade Sports drink as they upsets me too - maybe I should go back to dextrose tablets.

SIS gels are good (for me, at least) and you can get them and other gels either with or without caffeine, which might help. I know the effect caffeine can have on some folks!

Hopefully a Thursday expo visit for me.

I don't have caffeine at all - have not had for about 8 years so always have to be careful with gels with that.

Expo shall be Wednesday for me

Always used Lucozade gels as I got them at special rates but as they no longer part of the company not sure what I will use have used SIS. Have had no problem with any Gels. I do find to much sports drink on a run makes me feel sick.
