Conflicting advice from media outlets on whether informal running groups can still operate in Scotland with the new Rule of 6 BBC Q&A says you can bbc.co.uk "Q: If I regularly run outside with a group of friends, is that still allowed? Sandy, Bishopbriggs. A: Yes - provided physical distancing guidelines are adhered to." RunABC Scotland - says no you can't runabc.co.uk "New government guidance on the size of social groups comes into effect in Scotland today (Monday, 14 September), reducing the number of people we can run with at one time. What’s come to be known as ‘The Rule of Six’ across the UK reduces the number of people aged over 12 who can meet indoors and outdoors in Scotland to six – from just two households. Failure to comply can result in a £60 on-the-spot fine. The good news is that the reduction in permitted numbers does not apply to those taking part in sessions organised by scottishathletics affiliated running clubs or jogscotland groups." Anyone, seen any other guidance anywhere for informal groups ? |

That ties into JS guidance, yes you can but only on official runs. informally it's 2 households, six folk max... so most likely in essence groups of two, maybe three......... |

So if it's organised you can do more! The opposite of what clubs were saying a bit back, where they didn't want to formally encourage meet ups. But now, only they can support running together, as formal sports club sessions! Soooo confusing! Bizarrely, my wee model car racing is classed as a sport (motorsport - I sh*t you not!) and hence we can still have events for 30, 40 plus people in attendance. We're doing distancing, masks, hand sanitiser etc. but we're still allowed to do it. |

From SportScotland it looks like up to 30 people can meet for an organised session and while in the "activity bubble" between the warm-up and cool-down there doesn't even need to be social distancing, except for coaches who should stay distant. Outside of an organised session I can't see any exception to the 6 people, 2 household rule. |

I thought the Guidelines from SA says groups of 15 can meet for formal socially distanced run, organised by running clubs.
